KATSEYE put a date on 'KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS' at twenty to six in the morning Seoul time on August 6, and did it in a place most people will not look: the description under a twenty-nine-second Short. It reads, in full, that the film opens in theaters worldwide with limited screenings from August 12, followed by a link to katseyewildheartsfilm.com. Nothing else is in it — no cities, no runtime, no ticket details.
We logged the post twenty-nine minutes and forty-two seconds after it appeared, when it stood at 106,034 views, with 19,455 likes and 2,187 comments. That is a reading from its first half hour, not a running total.
Three of our 205 KATSEYE posts name 'WILD HEARTS': the official trailer on July 15, a Short announcing that tickets were on sale on August 1, and this one. We wrote about the ticket post at the time, and no date appeared anywhere in it. Three weeks after the trailer and five days after tickets opened, August 12 is the first date on the record.
The channel has been posting Shorts on most days through this stretch — July 31, August 1, twice on August 2, then August 3, August 4 and August 5. The ticket news arrived inside that run, and so did this. For EYEKONS the practical lesson is the same either way: on this channel the headline is sometimes under the video, not on it.
Context for International Fans
The date is nowhere in the Short's title. 'last night was a movie 🥹 #KATSEYE' gives no sign that the post carries a release announcement, while the channel's August 1 Short put its ticket news right in the title. Official channels increasingly file real announcements in the description field, which travels badly: aggregators, feed readers and anyone skimming a grid of thumbnails see only the caption. It is a reason to open the description on a channel you follow, and a reason a desk that reads every description has something to add.
Why It Matters
Stating a release date is easy once it exists; establishing when it first existed is not, especially when a channel drops it into a description rather than a press release. Our record already held the trailer and the ticket post without a date attached, which is what lets us say precisely that August 12 surfaced on August 6 and not before. An article written after the fact could give you the date; it could not give you that.
What to Watch Next
You will not find August 12 on our schedule page. Our event registry covers albums, singles, comebacks, concerts, fan-cons, fan-meetings and tours, and a theatrical screening is none of those — so it is recorded here rather than filed under a type it does not belong to. Until that changes, this page and the official channel are where the date lives.
